"CAFE BORGHESE" is one of the oldest and certainly the most ancient of the harbour's "bistrots".
We can trace it until the fifties, when the "patronne" not only held the cafe, but also served over 150 home made tartines (untoasted bread with jam or butter or cheese) at lunch and dinner time to the workmen labouring in the area.
From simple bistrot to hot night bar and lastly cafe and restaurant, the BORGHESE was taken over in the eighties by "Maurice", an atypic guy, whose hobby was painting, who redecorated it integrally with Barroco-Oniric fresques (rumor goes he used street dust to pigment his colours).
Although restored 3 years ago, the BORGHESE is identical today with its remaining, slightly out of time old charm.
